Miegunyah House Museum
Miegunyah House Museum, owned and run by the Queensland Women’s Historical Association, is an opportunity to experience life in an elegant Victorian-era home, furnished in the style of the late 19th century.
This home was built when local tradition was at its most opulent and is richly decorated with iron-lace balustrades, filigree columns and friezes. However, not all inhabitants of this house lived a life of wealth and luxury.
Glimpse the drudgery endured by the cook in the hot and sweaty kitchen, and in the laundry view the backbreaking toil that was washing day.
Devonshire teas can be enjoyed on the wide verandah overlooking the cool restful garden.
