Bittersweet: The Rise of the Australian Musical

Enjoy the latest exhibition presented by the QPAC Museum.

While the very idea of musical theatre conjures images of bright lights and Broadway, did you know that Australians too have been creating new musicals since 1920?

From Reedy Creek to Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and The Boy from Oz to Bran Nue Dae, discover the fascinating history of Australian-made musicals and some remarkable stories of the talent and tenacity that have brought them to the stage.

Tony Gould Gallery Open: Tuesday – Saturday 10.00 am – 4.00 pm. Access via Cremorne Theatre entrance.
