Historic Walking Tour of Fortitude Valley Hotels

Many of Brisbane’s oldest pubs are long gone, but Fortitude Valley still retains a number that have survived the wrecker’s ball and reinvented themselves for the 21st century.

Robert Allen is a professional historian who has researched the history of some of the Valley’s oldest hotels. Featuring expert commentary and behind the scenes insights, this walking tour will take in half a dozen pubs in various states of originality, each with something to tell us about the social, political and economic history of the Valley.

NB. The walking tour will commence from outside the Royal George Hotel (RG’s) at the top (eastern) end of the Brunswick St Mall. The tour is conducted at an easy walking pace but there are stairs inside some of the venues.
