Historical Walk: Heart of New Farm

***THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT***

A New Farm & Districts Historical Society walking tour.

Join this historical walking tour through the Heart of New Farm, taking in landmarks and homes, and lots of stories.

MEET US on the Brunswick St/Sydney St corner of NEW FARM PARK, for a 90-minute walk to see sites in Brunswick St, Bowen Tce and Merthyr Rd, along with peeks at Langshaw, Moray and Moreton Sts.

Among the gems to be seen are the Holy Spirit Church, Wynberg, Hamel and Red Ted’s house, plus we’ll recall homes long gone such as Coolden, the Japanese House, Linden, Tullibardine, and many more.

Enjoy hearing about the social history of this, one of Brisbane’s oldest suburbs, as well as some prominent residents of the past.

The tour will finish at Merthyr Village where walkers are welcome to enjoy a cuppa together.

Your tour guide will be Gerard Benjamin, author of the popular books Reflections on New Farm and Homes with History, and history columnist for My Village News.

For further information, contact the tour leader, Gerard Benjamin on 0409 582 830.
