Remembrance Day tours

Join us during the week of Remembrance Day for a free, 45-minute guided tour of Anzac Square Memorial Galleries exploring the history, traditions, and Queensland war heroes that exemplify this important day.

We’ve searched through State Library’s extensive military collection to bring you some of our favourite stories of courage, resilience, and sacrifice from the home front and the warfront, as we guide you on an interactive journey from the First World War to today.

Some of the stories you’ll hear on this special tour include Francis Henry Staunton – a shearer from Richmond who served in Gallipoli and the Western Front, Beryl Pender – a superintendent in the Women’s Land Army during WWII, and Alex Garlin – a national serviceman with the Royal Australian Navy.

Places are limited so bookings are essential.
