Talking about… Town Halls and Schools of Arts

Queensland Family History Society

Was your soldier ancestor farewelled or welcomed home at a Town Hall meeting? Were your ancestors active in town affairs, attending political meetings or monthly meetings at a Town Hall?

Schools of Arts provided public lectures and reading material for those of our ancestors who sought self-improvement. Perhaps your family helped raise funds for or construct a community hall.

Did you attend balls, old-time dances or eisteddfods yourself?

Come along and share your stories. Nancy Edwards will be “Master of Ceremonies”.

Please note. A “Talking About” session is a discussion group where everyone is expected to contribute through sharing their knowledge and experience, through asking questions and/or giving opinions and answers. It is not a presentation. It is open to all levels of experience, no question is too silly to ask!

This event will be held at 10am Queensland time (AEST, no daylight saving).
