Transformations: Art of the Scott Sisters

Transformations: Art of the Scott Sisters brings to life the work of Harriet and Helena Scott.

These two extraordinary women combined their love of nature with their tremendous skill in rendering its beauty. These skills enabled the Scott sisters to distinguish themselves in the male-dominated world of 19th century science.

With their paintbrushes, microscopes and magnifying glasses, they worked together to transform nature into art in extraordinary paintings of moths and butterflies.

A touring exhibition produced by the Australian Museum.

The museum is open Wednesday to Friday, 10am – 4pm, and Saturday to Sunday, 10am – 3pm.
