The annual BLH Photo Competition invites everyone to discover the heritage of our great city and enter a photo taken at one of our 90+ member organisations during 2024-2025. This year, the competition opens on the 1st of December 2024, and closes on 30 January, 2025
Photos must be from member sites/organisations, and taken in 2024 up to the closing date for the competition.
We continue with our Whippersnapper Award, for a junior photographer under the age of 18, who has taken a photo from either the Place or Object categories. Perfectly timed to coincide with the school holidays!

About the annual BLH Photo Competition
Discover the heritage of our great city — the stories, spaces, and faces that paint the culturally-rich picture of Brisbane — and share your unique perspective with a photo taken at one of our member organisations.
There are more than 90 cultural heritage places — museums, galleries, heritage sites, historic houses, gardens, and historical societies — to photograph.
Cash prizes awarded in four categories:
- Place – $400
- Object – $400
- People’s Choice – $350
- Whippersnapper Award – $100
