Brisbane Tramway Museum
The Brisbane Tramway Museum is set in large parklands in the North West suburbs of Brisbane and features a unique collection of Brisbane tramcars and trolley buses. The collection includes a 1901 California Combination four-wheel tram, as well as the mighty twelve-ton Dreadnought and the Dropcentre tramcars.
Six trams have been restored back to working condition and are available for tram rides. In addition, the museum holds photographs, uniforms and other items which tell the story of life in Brisbane in the first half of the 20th Century.
Located on Tramway St, Ferny Grove, next door to the Ferny Grove Bowls Club, the Museum is open Sunday afternoons and by special arrangement. Admission includes unlimited tram rides on Brisbane’s preserved trams in a bushland setting. Souvenirs and cold drinks are available and there are picnic tables in the grounds.
