Queensland State Archives
Queensland State Archives manages the State’s archives and records and makes public records available for use by present and future generations.
When researching your family tree, local history or Queensland history, Queensland State Archives is an invaluable facility, as custodian of the State’s largest and most significant collection of government records.
The building currently holds approximately 70 kilometres of public records including court records, inquest files, school admission registers, immigration records, maps and plans, and photographs.
Queensland State Archives hosts a variety of events each year including workshops, seminars, and behind-the-scenes tours.
Reading Room bookings
Before you come to the Reading Room you will need to book your visit.
Book a time from 9am to 12.30pm or 1.30pm to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, 2nd Saturday of every month.To meet contact tracing requirements for COVID-19, you will need to provide your contact details when booking a time.
