We are excited to announce an opportunity for you to showcase your expertise and passion for our city’s rich cultural heritage. You are invited to submit industry-related articles for our website page “Living Tapestry”.

This is your chance to shine a spotlight on the fascinating world of museums, galleries, history groups, tours and events that make Brisbane a vibrant hub of history and culture.

What to Write About?

The possibilities are endless!
Here are some ideas to get you started:

Museums and Galleries: Share behind-the-scenes glimpses, highlight special exhibits, or discuss the impact of art and history on our community. Spotlight a role or person in your organisation who has knowledge to share.

History Groups: Tell us about your latest research, upcoming events, or the stories that keep your group inspired. Share your tips for managing members, publications or volunteers.

Events: Recap recent events, preview upcoming ones, or share tips on organising successful heritage events.

Industry Insights: Provide a look into the day-to-day workings of heritage preservation, including challenges and triumphs. Tell us about the technology you rely on or ways you are managing your volunteers and in-house procedures. If you have a great idea that other organisations may want to hear, this is the place to share it!

How to Submit?

It’s simple! Fill in the form below with your details, text and images or, email your article to marketing@brisbanelivingheritage.org with “Article Submission” in the subject line. Please include a brief author bio and any relevant images or links you’d like to accompany your piece.

Submission Guidelines

We accept submissions on a rolling basis.

  • Please keep your article between 750 and 2500 words
  • Please supply an image, or up to four images to accompany your article. We may not publish all of them but it’s good to have choices
  • For hints and tips or if you are not sure,  email marketing@brisbanelivingheritage.org

Write For BLH – Submit Your Article

70 characters max length
Author Name
If publishing on behalf of an organisation, please leave the Prefix and First fields blank and insert the organisation's name in the LAST field.
Please keep your word count between 750 to 2500 words. Use section headings if appropriate.
Upload your main image and up to three other supporting images. (Maximum four images in total) Landscape format where possible. Please ensure your images are clearly labeled for attribution purposes.

    Please list your images with their file name followed by the caption or text attribution you would like to appear with the photograph.

    Select an over-arching theme for your article. You'll be able to choose more specific topics in the POST TAGS section below.
    240 characters describing your article or why people should read it. What will they learn? What is the hook to get them to read on? This text may be used to promote a link to your article on Social Media and in the BLH Newsletter.
    Examples include: Topics covered, places mentioned, oragnisation name, locations, themes, people. (People can search by tag to find topics that interest them.)
