North Stradbroke Island Museum on Minjerribah

The North Stradbroke Island Museum on Minjerribah is a social history museum emphasising contemporary collecting.

The museum is on unceded Quandamooka Lands.

We aim to document and display the shared journey of living together on Terrangerri / Minjerribah. Our social history is Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal, sometimes in conflict, sometimes in cooperation.

The Museum displays highlight the Aboriginal history of the Island, early colonial history, shipwrecks, sand mining and fishing industries, as well as the Dunwich Benevolent Asylum.

The Museum is only a short walk from the water taxis and barges. You can combine your Museum visit with a stop for a coffee or lunch, have a stroll through the historic cemetery and a browse through the Salt Water Murris Art Gallery for a lovely day trip to Dunwich.

It is recommended you call before visiting: 07 3409 9699.
