Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is located across two architecturally significant riverside buildings in South Brisbane’s Cultural Precinct.

Bringing the Indigenous and contemporary collections together with the Gallery’s historical holdings, the ‘Australian Art Collection’ display emphasises stories about Queensland and Brisbane from the region’s own perspective. It captures major historical moments from first contact to colonisation, exploration and immigration.

From early European religious paintings, British portraits and Dutch paintings to East Asian and European porcelains, the ‘International Art Collection’ display is punctuated with contemporary works that engage with historical themes and events.

QAGOMA also presents an evolving program of Australian and international exhibitions, with a focus on the contemporary art of Australia, Asia and the Pacific.
