‘Coming Together’ South East Queensland Loom Weavers Exhibition

This exhibition at the Redland Museum in November 2024 promises to be a celebration of loom weaving in South East Queensland, featuring both new and established artists. Loom weaving, often underestimated for its complexity, involves intricate interactions between warp and weft threads, capable of creating both simple and highly detailed patterns.

The exhibition “Coming Together” aims to explore themes of connection, structure, and history inherent in weaving. It invites visitors to appreciate the craftsmanship behind each creation and to reflect on the rich cultural and technological tapestry that loom weaving embodies. From traditional techniques to modern innovations, the exhibition promises to showcase the diverse talents and narratives of South East Queensland’s loom weavers.

Overall, this event at the Redland Museum is not just about showcasing artworks but also about celebrating the enduring allure and importance of weaving in our ever-evolving world.
