Seniors Month 2024 – Digital Storytelling

Bribie Island Seaside Museum is offering an exciting and dynamic workshop that will explore different ways of using digital technology to share and record personal stories for years to come.

This workshop will be facilitated by Tracey Benson from Treecreate; Tracey is an interdisciplinary artist, academic and researcher whose work cuts across arts, science and technology. The workshop will teach participants new skills and empower seniors to express their experiences and stories about their lives and the place they call home utilising digital technologies.

Participants will be shown how to be creative using various free digital apps on their own smartphone or tablet or use a provided iPad during the free three-hour workshop. The hands-on workshop will provide an opportunity to walk around the surrounding parkland to record their story with a partner or on their own.

This workshop aims to be as inclusive as possible, working with individual needs. The physical activity in the museum parkland is at a leisurely pace and is suitable for walkers of all abilities. If, possible, please bring your smartphone and / or tablet.

Free. Bookings required.
